Lisa is Head of External Affairs at Sport England. To date, Lisa has engaged with Hackney Tennis through her 2 children who have lessons with Hackney tennis both in and outside school and as a new tennis player herself.
In her current role at Sport England, Lisa is responsible for influencing the policy landscape around improving grassroots sport and getting people more active. Key to her role is developing relationships with a wide range of key stakeholders across national and local government and the sports sector, understanding their needs and being able to align objectives. She has extensive experience of leading and motivating large teams, running high profile programmes and campaigns, and managing budgets of up to £1 million. She also has a strong knowledge of successful grassroots programmes across the country.
Lisa is passionate about the importance of getting people more active for all the benefits it can bring to quality of life and well-being. She is excited about the potential Hackney Tennis has, with its reach across the borough, not just to unearth new talent but to engage more people in a really great sport. She’s particularly interested in helping to support initiatives to engage more people in the club from communities least represented in sport, from less affluent families, women and girls and particular ethnic groups. She is really keen to use her skills and experience to help develop new initiatives to attract more people to start playing tennis, using established infrastructure like schools, as well as through more innovative ideas.
