Howard Bennett (CHair)

Howard is a Managing Partner at Eastmoor Capital. For the past 18 years he has been CEO or Managing Partner of an investment management firm and then a proprietary trading firm. His roles have included determining business and IT strategy, financial control, regulatory compliance, and appointing senior staff. He brings a variety of skills and experience in managing small companies.

Howard was also a committee member of HCTC from 2010 – 2013. Having been involved with Hackney Tennis for almost 10 years he fully understands and appreciates its success in promoting grass roots tennis and the hard work that has gone into this.

Lisa Watch

Lisa was the Head of External Affairs at Sport England. To date, Lisa has engaged with Hackney Tennis through her 2 children who have lessons with Hackney tennis both in and outside school and as a new tennis player herself.

Maurine J. Lewin

Maurine is a semi-retired lawyer. Her last full time position was Head of Legal at CEOP, a child protection and police organisation, now part of the National Crime Agency. She has 30+ years as a court service and in-house lawyer.

David Pagliaro

David Pagliaro works as Partner and Global Head of Corporate Engagement for Signum Global Advisors. Based in London, David drives the firm’s effort to build, expand and engage a large and diverse set of corporate actors globally.
David built his career at the intersection of business and international politics and is experienced in engaging C-level stakeholders, crafting mutually beneficial partnerships and in convening high-level discussions. Prior to joining Signum Global Advisors, David worked for over seven years at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs. David holds a Master’s degree in Middle East Studies from King’s College London and a Bachelor’s degree in International Relations and Diplomacy from the University of Trieste (Italy). He speaks fluently in French and Italian.

David Harrison

David is a freelance music editor/author who is a keen tennis player. Being in his 50s he understands the benefits of the game as a physical activity but also in terms of confidence-building and as a valuable experience of continual learning, progression and refinement.

David has been a committee member for some years and was involved in introducing the online booking system for HCTC, delivering the successful application for floodlights at Clissold Park and was Child Welfare Officer for some years. David is a good communicator and tries hard to see the broader picture. David has a keen interest in reaching out to under-represented areas of the borough including children who might not otherwise experience the valuable benefits of tennis – in nurturing the fun aspect of tennis and the appreciation of its ability to transform at whatever level it’s played.

Cristian Winder

Cristian is Divisional Marketing Manager at the National Citizen Service Trust. He has a strong attachment to Hackney Tennis having been associated with the club for 11 years: as a member, a father of two sons who play for the HCTC junior teams and as a team tennis captain for 10 years.

Previously, as the LTA’s Tennis Development Manager for Essex he was responsible for the development of over 100 clubs from pay and play centres to private members clubs and leisure chains. He worked with the Local Tennis Leagues developing their player assessment process and customer communication for over 150 leagues nationwide. For 5 years he worked with the leisure chain Everyone Active as a Marketing Manager for Westway Sports & Fitness which has 9 tennis courts including 7 indoor.

Cristian is eager to bring all his tennis knowledge and experience and contacts from the activities outlined above together with 25 years of management experience and 15 years of marketing experience. He feels deeply passionate about ensuring that Hackney Tennis’ great reputation is maintained and that all potential avenues for further development are explored

Roger Waite

Roger lives in Hackney and joined the board of Hackney Tennis in December 2022. Professionally Roger is a charity and non-profit lawyer who works with a range of national and international charities and helps with the establishment and operation of new charities.
He first became involved in Hackney Tennis through his children who are part of the Hackney Tennis squads and he is an enthusiastic though very average tennis player himself.
